In August the MIT student newspaper reported that attorneys for MIT and Time have been reluctant to debate the case, citing a confidentiality settlement that each side described as very restrictive. Jason Kravitz, a Boston lawyer who represented MIT in the case, instructed that the journal’s change of name to Fortune/CNET Tech Review, a change that occurred in the course of the case, could have been a part of the settlement. Technology Review also capabilities as the MIT alumni magazine; the edition sent to alumni accommodates a separate part, “MIT News,” containing objects such as alumni class notes.
