Brian Arthur defines technology in a equally broad method as “a method to meet a human purpose.” Philosophical debates have arisen over the use of technology, with disagreements over whether or not technology improves the human condition or worsens it. It has helped develop more superior economies (including today’s global economy) and has allowed the rise of a leisure class. Many technological processes produce unwanted by-products often known as pollution and deplete pure resources to the detriment of Earth’s surroundings.
The word technology is a mix of two Greek words, techne and logos. Some have since taken the word logos to suggest the practical software of techne, however others say that’s stretching its etymological roots.
